Fish-pond farming with integrity

On an area covering 10 hectares, we operate a fishpond farm.

However, in our ponds many other native species such as pikeperch, pike, catfish, tench, and whitings are bred.

“I believe that healthy fish can only be properly bred in a mixed cultivation,”

is how Peter Paffrath describes his farming project.

“Our carps are only fed with natural vegetable foods from regional grain,

which are made into pellets according to a self-created recipe.”

The  ponds are very sparsely occupied–approximately ten cubic meters of water for each fish.

Thereby the fish can obtain a lot of natural nutrients,

and the water is of such high quality that crabs and pond mussels have settled there.
